For us, the story of Tahbilk Winery begins with the land and the river. This place is known as tabilk-tabilk, ‘place of many waterholes’ in the language of the Daung-wurrung clans, the first people; a name which perfectly describes the landscape. Our promise to our customers is the creation of prestigious wines and experiences worth sharing which celebrate our history and commitment to a sustainable legacy for future generations.

In 1995 the first steps were taken to regenerate the Tahbilk Eco trail area. Additional understory vegetation was planted to provide habitat necessary to attract greater numbers of native birds and animals. Prior to opening in 2005, these efforts were complemented by nature walking paths, timber boardwalks, docking points for the Eco Trails boats and two bird hides. An ongoing works program continues to maintain and enhance the area as an important conservation area.

When Skydive Nagambie was first opened by Australian Champion Don Cross seventeen years ago, he had only one goal in mind. To bring the excitement and thrill of the best skydive in Melbourne to as many people as he could. He lives that dream today having created Victoria’s largest skydiving centre, giving everyone great deals and prices. It is exciting, thrilling and scary, but above all it is fun!
Near Heathcote, an hour south of Echuca, is Mt Ida, now part of the Heathcote-Graytown National Park. It is a good idea to obtain maps of this area and to plan a circuit taking in the former Mt Ida Flora Reserve and the Dargile Ironbark Forest to the east (both of which have been incorporated into the new National Park). The picnic ground in the Killawarra Forest is worth incorporating into the walk. The vegetation around the picnic ground features Ironbarks and some plants introduced from outside the area. By contrast, the area to the west is Box Forest.
