Inspired by nature, the Goulburn River and Ranges region is defined by its striking natural geographic features, taking in the southern reaches of the Goulburn River, Nagambie Lakes, Strathbogie Ranges, bush trails, and ancient forests, including the Tallarook State Forest, Mount Black Conservation Reserve, Reedy Lake Conservation Reserve and the Heathcote Graytown National Park.

The region’s many lakes and lagoons, linked together by Victoria’s longest river, the Goulburn River, create clearer skies and a much warmer climate, on average, than Melbourne, all year-round.

Just a 90 minute-drive north of Melbourne’s CBD (and accessible by train and bus), Seymour, Avenel and Nagambie, are in easy reach of visitors for day-trips from Melbourne, as well as local, interstate, and international travelers staying in the Victorian capital.

There are no crowds, queues, or health safety concerns, the Goulburn River and Ranges region is the ideal road trip destination. Hear the water and native birds, rise and settle over the Goulburn River, ranges and lakes.

Stay in places surrounded and enriched by Nature and breathe in the open spaces, big skies, air fused with water and eucalypt, and a place free of congestion. Experience country style hospitality and cooking, exceptional culinary tastes, the flavours of local wineries and eating places.

Meet friendly locals, hear moving stories, experience lively townships, wide smiles, and be yourself in natural settings.

Take Nature’s Road Trip, and it all awaits with fishing, canoeing, bushwalking, cycling, bird spotting, water sports, skydiving and much much more.
